recession.

it has been announced to expect negative growth nxt yr. according to my dad, it's the first time. wow with my dad at home, i realized, i learnt to enjoy watching news, documentary and variety shows instead of dramas during my meals (eh of course with exceptions). he sure has much knowlegde of the world, keeping himself updated daily. yet with such depressing news, i learnt to pick up the more interesting n impt daily news. this recession is terrible, with it being compared to the 1930s great depression, it jus shows the magnitude and how the world's economy is shaken. indeed with news confirming the bringing forward of budget forecasts and budget day etc, it shows how much help is required from the government to save the economy. as graduates in another half a yr, many of us are facing the same worries of whether we'll get a job by then. nothing can be expected like what it used to be, assuring that accountancy students get a job at the end of the road in uni. afterall, during these few mths, i realized nth in the economy is predictable anymore.

yet in the midst of incertainty, i wonder which country will be the nxt superpower. personally US wld be facing a hard-time getting back on its former glory, with problems surfacing one after another esp since the terrorist attacks in 2001. will it be china or europe? it sure looks like they have much capability and potential. i used to think it wld be, yet upon gaining insight from a respected someone, it made me rethink twice. it is changing yet it cannot be compared to the success of US cos US managed to unified their currency (euro isn't able to achieve this yet) and is open to the world (china has yet to achieve as well). well, if it is china, i guess we have to learn. he taught me that the Americans are more open and frank in comparison to the chinese. Doing business with them would require us to equip ourselves with knowledge that is yet in born in us.

reflecting upon myself, i realized there is a serious problem. haha i m totally not proactive, always taking a backseat, be contented n waiting for opportunities, that also explain much about my character. lol though i know it is essential to go out and look for opportunities instead if one really wanna succeed in life. that is one aspect i need to relook into. for now, exams is still ultimately wat is on my mind. yet i know results is kind of fixated.
