kong fu panda.

ha it was a movie entirely for just-for-laughs. nonetheless i had some takeaways though it was a no-thinking-required show.
1) even the highest and most equipped skilled person would fall prey to evils of himself
2) one does not have to be the most skilled, the best, to win. being sure of your role, being confident of your existence, being passionate are all ingredients to success
3) there is no one special ingredients to exceling. it's the nuturing process as well as the character-building sessions that lead one to excel in the end.

a simple show, with a simple plot, the meanings of the show was conveyed through laughters.

midway internship reflections.

time flies. the seventh week of internship has ended. though many are looking forward the end of internship, i think so far i have enjoyed my internship.

speaking of my direct senior, i like his style of teaching. letting me to learn on my own, picking things up along the way. most importantly, he taught me almost the entire process of auditing a company, letting me have a hands-on experience of being alone auditing, getting information from the client. many times, i came back with only the bare minimum information required. he taught me how to prob further, to gather more information, to ask more questions and not stopped where he told me. he let me see the analytical process behind the audits and left me to work on the company independently, coaching me whenever he is free. he may have been a tough senior and one who frightened me on my first day of work (testing my textbook knowledge the first morning i reported to office) but he has gained my respect. despite his busy flying schedule, he taught me a lot. of course, all the other seniors have been approachable and definately willing to teach.

the interns and staff. the interns have sure built up a relationship in office these few weeks esp those on same level in the training room which has almost been turned to an 'intern' room. nice cosy environment with a super scenaric view. the occassional (or is it frequent?) chatting, relaxing and crapping moments have made the whole internship a much nicer place to be in. the freshly graduated new staffs, whom we enjoyed chatting with, shared their jokes, their life with us too. once the interns leave, the training room wld become a much quieter place.

overall, i would say i not only learnt a lot but also enjoyed the times working there so far. 3 more weeks, to learn and to experience, to share and to enjoy. *smilez* each of us have a different experience at internship, but let us all make the best out of it.

the sea view right in front of me for the past few weeks. it's an excellent place to stone and relax whenever i don't wanna work. *smilez*
Redang part 2.
the most memorable part of the whole experience- under the waters, snokelling among the fishes. All the photos below are self taken and the true experience of what we saw.
corals and many fishes.

i think that is clown fishes. unfortunately the corals are not as beautiful as those in nature due to increase human traffic in those places that used to be untravelled.

'bai cang yu' haas we seriously think it might be those that we can find in the wet market.

fishes don't bump into human in normal cases and they tend to stay away. to draw them closer, we use bread. not sure whether human can eat them cos they seem a little different.

thank you for all the encouragements given. i guess i was in a seriously low mood on sat such that i only focused on the lousy moments of the day. i am touched by many acts shown. from simply leaving a tag to having an email received from half a globe away in reply of that post. to those who offered to lend me a listening ear i was seriously moved cos i didn't think i deserve such attention.

some other realizations that dawn upon me. learnt a lot from the cashflow game. but i takeaway was slightly different cos in the game everyone was focusing on getting out of the rat race, whereas for me, you would have got out of it once you are doing sth u enjoy. it was definately an experience. learnt a lot.

caught up with my jc classmates. wow all of them are doing well! from many future bankers, businessmen, accountants to doctor and dentist.

having watched my cousins grew up since young, it only dawned upon me they have grew up into sensible young adults. they treated me to snacks and tibits after going to the playground. the world has changed. i m supposed to be slightly cash richer, yet they treated me. that simple act touched me much. it had been a week of warmth.

ending off with a video capturing the whole process of feeding the fishes. hope you would enjoy it.

my confession on 14 June 2008.

in place of this post, it was supposed to be a lighthearted post of pics of my most memorable trip plus video of rendang part 2. however, too many things happened on 14 June 2008 that made me reflect quite a bit at the end of the day. those below are for personal reading and think out loud thoughts ba. blogs often reflect the happier side of people, yet where do ppl let their inner thoughts go?

lesson 1 learnt.
i wld go home earlier if i ever stayed out late, at least much earlier than the last bus. for the second time, i troubled someone to fetch me home past midnight. the feeling is quite terrible, a mixture of guilt, apologies and wrenching feeling because it troubles the person one is closest to. it becomes much worse when it takes the person to travel across the whole of singapore jus to pick me up. apologies are useless cos it can only be said after the act. hence, i promised, it will not happen again. twice, i wasn't scolded. twice, it made me feel worse.

the realization that i m a really stupid person, because my stupidity often lead to the troubling others plus it is really not worth it. friends will always be friends cos whether they really care about u is another thing. at least some or a few really do.

lesson 2 learnt.
have my own mind.

self confession.
for the whole day, i was holding back tears. i hate life where i talk so much about auditing stuff beyond working hrs. i'll stopped doing that cos it is not only boring others but myself too. a lack of sleep brought me to be so sian for the whole day and affecting others. (censored). (censored). wat a lousy person i feel i m today. perhaps i need to self reflect on myself more. i donno how to control. when i saw you, i felt jus like a little ger, breaking down. time to grow up and plan a little more of wat i wanna do in life.

This post is specially dedicated to u, celebration for the end of your exams for this sem finally.monday: went shopping at robinson at ps since it has a closing down sales.

thurs: ate at botak jones. coffee outlets which i give my thumbs up for both the quality of the food and service. good food does not need to be expensive or high class, it just have to be nice, fulfilling yet leaving a good impression.

the famous peanut ice kacang i was deprived of eating.

fri was called out of office to client's place last min and ended up doing ot till close to 8pm. took a cab down to catch the movie, indiana jones. despite being late for close to an hr, i still enjoyed the show. poor stomach had dinner at 10pm. luckily the client was really nice to offer lots of snacks...:)

the southern bridge. enjoyed the walk lots maybe cos from now, i don't have to travel all the way to bukit timah for the greenary and luxury of walking among trees since the starting point is just within walking distance from my house. *smilez* it gives me more reason to love the location of my house. despite staying out late after work for the last few days and having a fitful night with 4 hrs of sleep, i climbed out of the comforts of bed at 6:30am to embark on the walk.

was zi highing at 9am in the morning.the morning breeze and scenary was nice :) posing.

spotted a durian tree! with lots of durian. hahaha first time i see one :)
the zigzag path down.
the day ended nicely with a nice home made lunch. thank you for preparing the lunch with me for not only myself but for my family as well. i hoped u enjoyed the first 3 days of end of exams. ha been tolerating my nagging for so long but i was really glad u studied hard despite having to juggle studies/work with night classes.
self reflection: the end of 2 yrs has come. i realized i may not exactly be cut out to be an accontant maybe cos the ppl ard me seems to be able to grasp the concepts much better than i do. nonetheless maybe at this point in time, the grades doesn't matter so much to me anymore as long as i've put in my efforts. i believe i did. it's time to be contented and not live the life of a rat race anymore. lead life the way u wld be happiest.

time for updates! been 3 weeks long since the last update...haas so busy recalling wat has happened.

internship.

wellz the first 2 days was more happening while the rest is nothing much. went client's place alone on the second day of work and stayed there for the day. wellz got really stunned by that cos didn't expect the company to trust interns so much. it was sure an experience attempting to act as a real auditor and performing the tasks given to me. since my senior left for shanghai on the 3rd day, i've been left in office compiling annual reports. mmz not complaining though cos my other senior let me learn independently and entrusted thinking jobs for me to complete. bleah but i always cannot balance the cashflow statements except a few easy ones. was given a few thinking qns to be pondered over, yet i always couldn't come up with an answer. *sigh* would feel that i ain't helping my senior much. nonetheless i think i have 2 great seniors so far who taught me quite a lot along the way plus a really humourous assistant senior who sure lighten the environment at workplace. double *sigh* current senior going on 3 weeks leave and the other isn't back, donno who i would be reporting to le...

doing ots everyday, luckily workplace is near my home and have a few interns to pei, hence still alrights. mmz looks forward to lunch everyday with the seniors and fellow ntu interns who are sure easy to get along with and humourous. at least it isn't always chatting about accounting stuff. afterall i was lucky to know 4-5 interns even before entering the company...haas so much familarity :)

not denying that working is giving me the inertia to get out after work, esp when there is unpaid ot involved. wee got our first paycheck already though we are still thinking how they tabulate...and i should stop dreaming about possibly getting a pay more than $700. lolz.

work life balance.

limited by falling sick and sleeping at home for quite a number of days. first weekend was out shopping in search of formal wear...went many places after breakfast cum shopping with pari but only one place at kallang entertainment center caught my attention but it was too out of the place for me to go back there again and couldn't find other outlets. nonetheless bought my shoes plus a blouse which i both love to bits.

second weekend spent simply. went to watch water fools, singapore arts festival opening with my bro. equally impressed by the performace as last year's opening though i was somewhere squeezed at the back of a huge crowd. haha the photos below isn't taken by me, yet it sure is nice to look at as a form of memory and first hand experience. i'll go again nxt yr and the yr after and i'll go early the nxt time the place is so cramp or choose a better spot.

had swensons' one for one sundae ice-cream after hearing my seniors talking bout it. lolz but i didn't check out the details properly and ended up troubling gh's sister quite a lot! met up with geraldine for dinner and catched up with her after missing out on her for a long time! haha stayed in amoi hawker center for a 2 hr plus dinner cum chit chat. nice. seems like the more than decade long friendship is still very strong. *smilez*

this weekend, probably main highlight was going to a high class place recommended by my bro. keppal bay. it's a place for the really really rich ppl who can afford to buy yachts and park them there. though i probably wouldn't ever be this rich, it is nice looking and admiring them ba. still rmb the first time i was there, i didn't dare to enter the place wearing flipflops, teeshirt and shorts. this time, i went there more properly attired to admire the scenary and dine in. wahahaa don't u think it requires lots of money to dine in there cos i could only afford tcc. but, it is more than enough :)

this is the view in the day.
my next challenge. wanna complete the 9km walk, armed with water bottle and towel. i realize the kind of things i like to do is so predictable, nice scenaries and nature.okayz i think quite a long update....*smilez*
